Absorbs phosphate, silicate and heavy metals from water column without releasing any back into the tank. Leave in aquarium indefinitely with no ill effects; only change when exhausted. Highly recommended for aquarium startup; removes phosphate and silicate from substrate or live rock, reducing the likelihood of severe algae bloom. Allows much higher fish stocking with healthy feeding levels. A patented manufacturing process produces a unique iron hydroxide based compound unlike any other on the market.
